Paxos (or Paxi) as it is said in Greek mythology, was created by Poseidon (the God of the Sea) by striking Corfu with his trident, so that he and his wife Amphitrite could have some peace and quiet. Its area is 25.3 square kilometers, a truly beautiful scenery as it combines greenery and clear aquamarine sea. The perfect place to chill out as here there is no traffic, big companies or pollution and people live by doing everything at their own pace.

The main port of the island is at Gaios and receives ferries, hydrofoils and of course sailboats. Gaios is the capital of Paxos and the largest town on the island, with all the essential amenities and facilities. From the harbor front of Gaios you can go to the island of Anti-Paxos. Sandy beaches with shallow, crystal clear waters give you the sense of swimming in Blue Lagoon (the movie) or Caribbean.

Loggos is the smallest fishing village with beautiful beaches (Marmaris,Kipos and Kipiadi) only accessible by foot or boat. Monodendri is a wide beach between Loggos and Lakka that has a lot of facilities of water sports and taverns and is accessible by car.

Lakka is on the north tip, having a large harbor. It has two main beaches and a lot of facilities and shops.

Weather in Paxos is like the rest of Greece,(Mediterranean Climate) very nice from May to October and with some rain and cold in December through March.
